HISTORY
Boondall is located 20km north of Brisbane, just over halfway to Redcliffe. Being a residential area, Boondall is home to many young and established families, as well as retirees. Boondall was developed in the early 1900’s, but didn’t achieve popularity until the 1920’s, with Boondall state School opening in 1925.

Boondall is an affordable suburb, perfect for families and retirees alike. The block sizes throughout the suburb are generally larger than those found closer to the city. The suburb hasn’t been over developed, and so consists of many established homes, which only further enhances the appeal of the area.
SHOPPING
Boondall is only a hop, skip and jump to both Westfield Chermside and DFO Airport, two of Brisbane’s largest retail centres. It is also close to Centro Taigum and Centro Toombul. Boondall also offers specialty shopping along Murphy and Sandgate Roads.
SPORTS AND FITNESS
The Boondall Wetlands allows a scenic and educational walking experience, even for the less astute walker. The Boondall Ice World encourages a fun form of fitness for the entire family, and also promotes the sport in the professional field.
DISTANCE FROM CBD & TRANSPORTATION
Located 20km from the Brisbane CBD, Boondall offers the attraction of living “in the suburbs” while still having easy access to the city for commuters. The Gateway motorway and Sandgate Road are both run through the suburb, which is also serviced by two train stations – Boondall and Boondall North – on the Shorncliffe line.
FAMOUS LANDMARKS
The Brisbane Entertainment Centre hosts many famous international singers and bands throughout the year, with performances on during most weekends (and weekdays too). The centre also hosts other events including Motor Cross performances, World Wrestling Entertainment house shows and the NBL. With a maximum seating capacity of 13,500, the BEC can accommodate a large variety of performances and special stage shows. The Boondall Wetlands is located close to the Entertainment Centre is open all year. As a national park, the Boondall Wetlands provide native flora and fauna a safe and diverse habitat and consists of more than 1000 hectares of mangroves, salt marshes, tidal flats, grasslands, melaleuca wetlands, woodlands and open forests. Boondall Ice World ice-skating is also a popular destination.

Boondall has many popular cafes and restaurants along Sandgate Rd.
SCHOOLS, EDUCATION & INSTITUTIONS
The Boondall State Primary school is located on the corner of Sandgate and Roscommon Roads which provides students and parents ease of access. The school was established in 1925. St Joseph’s College is a prestige school and is located just a short drive down Sandgate Road.
