Suburb Snapshot - Why live in Geebung?

HISTORY
Geebung was originally named after the Geebong tree, or Persoonia, but was changed to Geebung as many handwritten letters were being mistakenly sent to Geelong, Victoria. Settlement of Geebung started in the 1860’s when a brick factory was established. The growth of the area has increased steadily since the 1880’s when the first railway line was laid. Geebung hosts a mix of residential and industrial land and is 4 km square in area.
