HISTORY
Wavell Heights is a Brisbane suburb located 9 km north of Brisbane CBD. It is named after Field Marshall Lord Wavell who was the Commander-In-Chief of the Allied Forces in the Middle East during the Second World War.

The Wavell Heights Neighbourhood Society Inc. manages the Murray Duus Park on Edinburgh Castle Road; they also manage a public tennis court and a community centre, consisting of a hall with two floors, stages and kitchen facilities. A Karate club, girl guides and scouts are also located here.

Approximately 9 km North of Brisbane CBD, Wavell Heights is well serviced by its bus system and it also has 2 train stations close by, Eagle Junction and Toombul.
